Midwest Interventional Radiology Medical Student Symposium March 2015

On March 14, 2015, the 1st Annual Midwest Interventional Radiology Medical Student Symposium was held in Chicago, Illinois. The Symposium was a collaborative effort of six medical schools: The University of Chicago, Medical College of Wisconsin, University of Illinois at Chicago, Loyola University, Rush University and Northwestern University.

Brown University’s Third Annual VIR Symposium

On October 10, 2014, Brown University’s Vascular and Interventional Radiology Interest Group hosted its third annual VIR symposium. Attendees included medical and undergraduate students from across the country who convened in Providence, RI for the half-day event.

Vanderbilt IRIG Symposium – May 2014

In May of 2014, medical students Shawn Barton, Kareem William, and Mary Ellen Koran hosted the first IR symposium. We had three vendors bring in their latest technologies in cryo, radiofrequency, and microwave ablation techniques, which students were able to test out on cow livers we purchased from a local butcher.
