Overview

Vascular interventional radiology trainees in the second through sixth postgraduate years are at increased risk of losing the strong clinical skills they developed during internship as they focus on their acquisition of knowledge in diagnostic radiology. Outstanding vascular interventional radiologists have mastered both procedural and clinical excellence, and thus, clinical integration throughout residency is paramount to achieving and maintaining clinical excellence and optimizing patient outcomes.* The SIR-RFS’s VIR Trainee Clinical Excellence Recognition Spotlight Series seeks to acknowledge young trainees who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to advancing his or her expertise in clinical disease management during their early postgraduate years via specific unique patient care experiences
